We saw this bird in front of the house when we woke up this morning. What is it? I need my bird-watching Mom's expert opinion! .jpg)
It looks a bit like a pheasant, but the coloring is different. Love the bright yellow head. We hope it manages to stay away from the neighborhood fox and cats. And cars. (Umm, yeah, I've managed to run over two pheasants since we've lived in England. D has only gotten one. I win!)

Yes, Jason, I counted that one! But I still prefer to remember it that the bird flew quickly out of the way as the tire got near, and not that the bird was rudely flung aside by the crushing blow from my tire, as you insist....
