We are SO excited that our great friends Randy and Lisa (and their kids!) are moving from Singapore to London this summer. It will be fantastic to have them in the 'hood! Many shared adventures ahead -- no doubt -- to add to the long list of adventures we've had together over the last 20 years or so. Woo hoo! We joined them for some of their house hunting; they selected a gorgeous home in Ascot, conveniently near to both the American School and the location of the new company office, with a gorgeous garden and a kitchen & master bedroom suite to die for.They'll love it. Once the househunting business was complete, we kicked up our heels. Had some long meals, drank some nice wine, and took a side trip up to Wimbledon for a tour. At the museum, they have an interactive game meant to test your agility for tennis; here are D and Randy playing against one another. You can hear D at the end complaining that his counter stopped working...and you can also hear how sympathetic Lisa was to his plight...as only good friends can be! Can't wait to have these guys around all the time!
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain
Polt-er-rat-ic

1. liable to sudden unpredictable change, mercurial twists of temperament; "She certainly displays polterratic behavior";
2. having no fixed course; "We took a polterratic drive along the coast";
3. behaving like planetary vagabonds; "The two of them are on another trip?!? They're acting polterratically again!"
In Ascot, it's...
And the days are getting shorter...
Welcome!
Perhaps it was just a matter of time until I finally started keeping my journal of expat life online, but it took the frustration of family & friends trying to view our photos on Snapfish to push me over the edge. Welcome to my web log. Please feel free to browse. I've posted both photographs and entries from my journal here. Some photos (especially those in the older posts where there is only one photo shown with text) here are actually links to an album of photos -- click on the "cover" photo to access the others. (Note that there are additional items accessible by clicking on "older posts" at the bottom of the page, or clicking on the "Blog Archive" below.) If you'd like, you can add your own comments by clicking on 'Comments' at the bottom right corner of each post. I look forward to hearing from you! A.
