My Former Future Boyfriend

When I was 8 years old, I thought that the Welsh singer Tom Jones would be my future boyfriend. He had a popular TV show in America, where he'd sing hits like "It's Not Unusual" and "She's A Lady". I thought he was hot. My crush eventually faded, as did his career, but recently he's experienced a career resurgence. He has performed with the likes of Wyclef Jean, the Stereophonics, Van Morrison, and The Edge from U2. In fact, Bono wrote the song "Sugar Daddy" specifically for him last year. Tom Jones is touring the US, UK, and Europe this year, and we went to see him on Friday night in Brighton. D dramatically rolled his eyes when he heard I'd gotten tickets to see some faded pop singer, but he'd admit to you now that the show was fun and retro-cool -- Tom's voice is still huge and he's a great performer. Here's a bite-sized piece of a classic Tom Jones number:
