Jeff in England

D's brother Jeff has business meetings in the UK and Italy this week -- his first trip to Europe! He spent this past weekend with us, arriving Friday night and departing on the train for southwestern England on Monday morning. (He'll be back here at the end of the week after a short trip to Bologna, too...bonus!) On Saturday, Jeff's first full day in England, we stayed relatively close to home, walking through Horsham: visiting the nearby Arundel Castle: and driving along the coast to the white chalk cliffs at Beachy Head. By the time we arrived at Beachy Head the sun was setting (we're losing daylight FAST here now!) but Jeff was still able to appreciate the scenery. And it was very, very windy....hence the cautious approach to the cliff's edge! On Sunday we went into London for some sightseeing: We spent quite a bit of time at the Tower of London -- Jeff really enjoyed the history and the exhibits in the White Tower. We'll go back into the city on Saturday when Jeff returns; we're hoping to give him a taste of what he might experience when he comes back to visit with his wife and their daughters next year!
