Debbie's Visit

Debbie was the first visitor we ever had here in England, way back in the Spring of 2007.  (See here; you can click on the photo there for the album of photos we took during that visit.) She stayed with us then while enroute to a 6-month stay in Afghanistan in support of the US State Department. She was back here last week, again enroute to Afghanistan, but this time (fingers crossed!) she'll only be there for 6-weeks.  We filled the short duration of her visit with activity, including a brief visit with Laura (and A) during the overlap in their stays with us, a walk around Horsham's town centre and it's many parks and gardens, snacks of local wines and cheeses, a fish-and-chips dinner at our local pub, and a quick (almost thwarted!) trip to Windsor Castle.  Despite our late morning start and my wrong turn which put us at Windsor in time for gridlocked traffic associated with it's daily changing of the guard ceremony, we managed to give Debbie an overview of the place with a promise to return for a more in-depth tour.  She loved the architectural details of the Castle, especially the reliefs and gargoyles.  Maybe some ideas for the upcoming addition on her house in DC?!? Safe travels Debbie -- we look forward to seeing you again on your return visit.
