Visiting my Mom & Dad in Florida

After more than a week in South Carolina, I headed to my parent's place in Florida. My Mom & Dad set up lots of things to do, including cocktails with their neighbors, a minor league baseball game, a new play at the Riverside Theater, great dinners, some much needed shopping, lunch with my cousins Linda & BJ, and plenty of R&R time in the lovely Florida sunshine.

My brother and I like to tease each other about who gets taken to nicer restaurants while visiting Mom & Dad. I may have won with this fantastic meal. Of course, my memory of the food might be slightly altered -- I ordered a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon to accompany my meal, and they brought me the largest glass of wine I've ever seen! My Dad swears that it was at least half a bottle. Here we are at the restaurant -- you can see that my parents were given moderately-sized pours of wine before dinner. My glass with dinner was filled to the brim!
We saw the Single-A Vero Beach Devil Rays defeat the Port St Lucie Mets last Saturday night. It was a perfect night for a ballgame.
The weather was beautiful all week. When I arrived, the temps were unusually low for South Central Florida -- highs in the low 70's -- and all of my parent's friends were abuzz about the "cold" weather. Yeah sure -- come live in England and you'll appreciate a 70 degree day as warm! Temps rose into the 80's while I was there -- perfect!
My view from a pool chair. Ahhh...!
Mom made certain that everything was very comfortable for me.
We met my cousins for lunch at a place right on the Indian River. This table was outdoors but under cover -- a perfect place to watch the plentiful pelicans diving for fish, and for enjoying a pina colada with the girls!
