Despite our best attempts to order up warm, dry weather for the duration of Steve & Maria's visit, it was an unseasonably cold week and the the coldest Easter Sunday on record in the UK. We woke up yesterday to snow -- nothing stuck to the ground, but it was pretty as it fell. It turned to rain mid-morning, then the skies cleared and we had a mild and sunny mid-day. But we were back to rain, then snow flurries, by evening. Earlier in the week, the boys were at the local indoor/oudoor swimming pool and were swimming outdoors when a hail storm began. My nephew M said, "I just don't 'get' this weather." No, neither do I!
The final weekend of their visit included a walk around the Horsham Saturday market, a ride on an old-fashioned steam train (in a rail car that looked just like the one Harry Potter takes to travel to Hogwarts), Easter Egg dyeing (using local brown eggs), a visit from the Easter Bunny (fyi -- he brings American candy!), and a hike.
