Christmas 2007

It was another wonderful holiday for us. We went back to the US (yes, again) to celebrate with family. We spent Christmas Eve with D's family at Steve & Maria's house. As has become tradition, we cooked, went to an early Mass, came home for dinner, then opened family gifts that evening. It was great to watch the boys open their presents! (Aunt Linda & Uncle John -- you'll get a kick out of seeing the photos of the boys opening your gifts -- what great choices!)
Christmas Eve

The boys woke up early on Christmas morning -- and sure enough, Santa had left wonderful surprises! Little D got the drum set he's been wanting "his whole life", and M got a cool ATM bank and some DS games. After all of the Santa gifts were opened, D and I left Steve's and went to my parent's house to exchange gifts with them. You'll see my Dad's delight at (once again) receiving "The Ripken Way" book from us. We originally gave it to him years ago. After reading it, he declared it "the worst gift ever" -- to which I replied that it would thereby be the LAST gift he ever got from us! So he gets it (along with a few other things, truth be told!) every year. And every time he gets it, we re-inscribe it inside the front cover. He's gotten it 15 times -- and counting!! That evening, D's family joined us at my parent's place for a fantastic Christmas dinner.
Christmas Day

A few days after Christmas, my brother and his family came into town from Chicago, and the celebrations began anew!
B, L & the Girls in Baltimore

We brought the families together for a fun outing to the Baltimore Aquarium on Saturday morning, followed by lunch at Baltimore's Harborplace.

And just before we left to return to England, we joined good friends for brunch in Annapolis. It's always great to see Steve & Maryanne, and our paths crossed in Maryland with Randy & Lisa's for only that one day -- we were glad to take advantage of the hours together!

Ours was a very special and happy Christmas. We hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season as well!

Hi Jason! Hope you and Jackie had a great one too. Your Mom sent us cherries -- it's a good thing, since we'd just finished the bag you brought us! :-) A.
