Before Jeanie left, we managed to fit in a trip together to the town of Richmond (on the outskirts of London) and a visit to Kew Gardens. We went to Richmond to meet up with Stacy, the daughter of another friend of Jeanie's. Stacy is in her first year of undergraduate school here, studying political science. Next year, she'll do an internship in Parliament. (Wow. And I thought that my first college job working the cash register and folding shirts at a retail store was "great experience"...!) After touring Richmond (a beautiful town on the Thames that reminded me a bit of Georgetown in DC), seeing one of Mick Jagger's homes, and having a great tapas lunch with Stacy, we went to Kew Gardens. Jeanie and I both enjoyed it -- especially the Japanese garden -- but decided that the best time to see Kew would be in the Spring.
