Maria's Visit

My wonderful sister-in-law Maria arrived a week ago today for a 6-day visit. She took a break from her busy life, leaving her two sons at home with her husband (D's brother) and taking time off from work (and time away from being my US-based errand-girl!) so that we could spend a week together exploring the area. We went north, south, east and west, and hit quite a few places that were new to me. We made it to north to Cambridge, west to Bath, the Cotswolds, and Oxford, southeast to Beachy Head, and even squeezed in a day in London. Enjoy the photos of our travels around Southern England:

D had planned to be around for much of Maria's visit, but was called back to Annapolis unexpectedly for a very important meeting. He left on the Sunday of her stay. So while Maria was here, he was there...spending time with her kids while not in meetings. Our nephews were certainly intrigued that Mommy had "changed places" with Uncle D!

While here, Maria was using Skype (free telephone calling over the Internet) to call home. On Sunday evening, she accidently clicked on the wrong icon and called our friends Don & Cathy in Belgium instead. Needless to say, Maria was quite confused when a woman answered the phone on her call "home"!

We saw some beautiful sites, scouted out things to do & see when she returns in the Spring with her family, and -- most important -- we had a great time together. Thanks for coming Maria -- and hurry back!
