Tower of London & Abbey Road

Although the weather forecasters predicted clouds and rain for today, it was a beautiful Saturday with blue skies and puffy white clouds. Gorgeous. We spent the day in the city.

Today we toured the Tower of London.
Tower of London and Abbey Road

While we were there, I met the brand new first-ever female Beefeater Guard, Moira Cameron, and had a chance to congratulate her on her new position. (Read about her here.) Very cool. And while I thoroughly enjoyed most of the visit to the Tower, Jason & D both loved the armory and seemed to need to inspect every sword and every suit of armor...in great detail. Ugh. Jackie and I demonstrated loads of patience with the two of them for much of the day, but after hour #613 of the self-guided armory tour, the day officially became known as...

...aka, "Dear God, When Will it Ever End?" We eventually managed to drag them out of the place. (Not easy -- trust me.) Afterwards, we took the tube north and found the zebra crossing made famous on the Beatles album cover. We felt sorry for the residents of the area -- you cannot believe how many knuckleheads (like, ahem, us) insist on crossing the road there at a slow rate of speed to recreate the album cover photo, thereby bringing the neighborhood automobile traffic to a halt.
