We spent four days in Norway at the end of August. D's company is in partnership with a Norwegian company, and they alternate meetings between London and Oslo. Although D had been to Norway before, I had not. We spent the first few days in Oslo, then travelled with Ed & Lorna by train west from Oslo to the coastal town of Bergen. From Bergen, we took ferries into the fjords, then we returned to Oslo. A Norwegian tour company calls their version of this trip "Norway in a Nutshell", and I understand why. As you'll see in the photos, we saw cities, harbours, mountains, glaciers, fjords, waterfalls, and three spectacular rainbows. I loved Norway for the amazing natural beauty -- I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful country. One word of warning, however -- it is very expensive. It is an affluent country, and there are high taxes -- but it appears that the taxes are well spent. Health care, all education including higher education, and even the Church is funded by the Norwegian Government. Save your pennies, and consider including Norway on your list of "must see" destinations.
